HUNGARIAN WIREHAIRED VIZSLA

  The wirehaired vizsla is an amalgamation of the smooth vizsla and german wire hair to get a HPR with a warmer weatherproof coat.As a relatively new breed in the UK we do not have consistency in coats yet,but they are improving.
  They are a lively,intelligent breed and they need to be busy both mentally and physically.They are quick to learn and respond to firm,but gentle handling........be hard on your vizsla and he will sulk and not forget in a hurry either.Allowed to free run as youngsters,and they can be good hunters,but their nose is good,although not as good as that of a spinone,but they are usually quick,smart retrievers.
  A truly versatile breed,wire hairs can be found as falconers companions,deer stalkers dogs,bouncing around the agility ring and of course as a working gundog.
  As much as we love our vizslak,I do not consider them the easiest breed to live with as they don't do 'down time' or are as relaxed as spinone.........they are constantly on the go! but if you are an energetic,outdoors person that likes to be busy then a wirey could be the dog for you.
